mp3 file in my player of choice, I need to move the file out of Sound Tap, into my library, and then change back to the Sigma Tel driver. If I then finish recording, and I want listen to the resultant. If I want to record something with Sound Tap, I need to select it, in which case, I can use nothing else to listen. If I am doing anything else, like, just plain listening, the Sigma Tel is selected. Sound Tap is only selected when I am using it. So, probably, we should leave them out of the equation. Sound Tap may also confuse the issue here, because one of its annoying features is that I need to go into Control Panel|Sounds, and select their driver. I am successfully recoding with RealPlayer 11, and with Sound Tap. But, I am stuck, as I said in my original post. My friend said that Audacity could edit ANYTHING. This did, of course work, but it gave me an. It is meant for video but I figured like VHS and DVD recording, I could record sound, in stereo, without actual video. In Vista, though, I can use Total Recorder to edit an mp3 file, e.g., I record 3-4 hours in Sound Tap and then want to take out just a few things to keep.Ī friend recommended Audacity because I was looking at RealPlayer's new recording capability. In Vista, on two machines, I am stuck with Sound Tap, which is minimally acceptable. I do use Total Recorder in two XP machines.
SOUNDTAP RECORDER DRIVER DRIVER
My sound driver is Sigma Tel High Definition 6. in fact, much to my pain, Total Recorder will not record in Vista, because of Direct X 10. The driver for Total Recorder is not my driver.
